Learning to paint

I have been working on this painting for over a year. I start off with a mosaic type painting. I put shapes, paint brush strokes using different colors and whatever I am feeling at that moment. Then I put the painting away. I come back later and keep adding more paint. Originally this picture had green dots on it so I made the dots into flowers. I am pleased how it turned out.
